My Encounter: In a worship service, I felt the Lord reveal entanglement within my spirit from past sexual abuse. It ached and felt suffocating; I could see and feel it like a black string wrapped around my organs. When I tried to get it out, it would pull and twist, and I felt an impossible feeling, like I would always be trapped. Suddenly, I felt the presence of God come into me, gently unravel the string, and pull it out of my body. He then poured a golden light into the empty spaces, and it solidified like gold.
I created this painting the next weekend during the MC Conference 2024, as a prophetic statement that He was delivering us from past trauma and bondage, and bringing restoration. I painted a black string on the painting, pulled it off during worship, and then filled the lines with gold. This abstract painting displays the deliverance process and the restorative work God is always doing within us.
