Time To Water

“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.”

I could read this and be offended. I could challenge the Lord and say, “Let’s see if anything grows if nothing is ever sown or watered.” Or I can interpret this to be an invitation to rest: “The miraculous part is not your responsibility. You plant and water, and don’t worry about results. That part is my part." ~ God
So I choose option two. Practical partnership with the miraculous nature of God.
Here’s what’s written in the painting: “This is a time to water what GOD has given us in seed form. Seeds are ideas and assignments (or relationships: family, friends, disciples, mentors, mentees, jobs etc. Watering is obeying in practical and consistent ways. Take time to pause and make a plan. Stewardship is needed. Radical love is a chosen love. Watering is the seemingly unrewarding and non-exciting part of loving through obedience. Prepare for the harvest.”
The harvest can be souls, relationships, finished products, opportunities, etc. Be obedient today, and you won't sacrifice the opportunities of tomorrow.
